Grand Rapids, MI

From My City To Our City

A community resource from My City Home Loans, built alongside our lending team to expand homeownership among our neighbors in West Michigan.

The KEys Arn't Reaching Everyone.

Grand Rapids is growing, but not all of our neighbors are growing with it. As median home prices rise, the dream of owning a home slips further away for low-income families, BIPOC residents, and folks with disabilities.
The Black-white homeownership gap in Kent County remains one of the widest in the nation. The shadows of historic redlining maps still linger over neighborhoods like the Near South Side and Garfield Park.
First-time buyers often face a maze of financial jargon, intimidating processes, and institutions that feel cold or unapproachable. We saw this happening in our own backyard, and we decided a simple mortgage product wasn't enough. People need guidance. They need a place to ask questions without feeling judged.

Lending And Learning, All Online.

"Our City" is the community arm of My City Home Loans, an inclusive, compassionate online space built right alongside our mortgage team to help underserved buyers navigate the home-buying journey.
Hop on a video call and you'll find both: a community classroom and a full lending team, working side by side from your screen. Real people, real conversations, and a clear path forward. The classes and 1:1 guidance happen in the same place as the lending team, so when you're ready, the next step is one click away, not a whole new relationship.

What this means for our neighbors

When the lending team and the community classroom meet you online, in the same place, everyone rises.

Community & Connection

A place to gather, learn, and grow together, virtually. Every conversation is a step toward homeownership, and when the moment is right, your loan officer is one message away. We host live online events, offer pre-qualifications, and connect you with trusted local partners.

A Trusted Reputation

Our City positions My City Home Loans as the go-to resource in West Michigan. Partnering with organizations like ICCF and Habitat for Humanity proves that genuine human connection is the strongest foundation a lender can build on.

A Lasting Legacy

My City Home Loans was built helping individual families into homes. Our City builds on that, turning one-at-a-time lending into a community-wide movement that levels the playing field, breaks down cultural barriers, and creates generational wealth.

Ready to make it official?

We know the paperwork can feel overwhelming. That's why our community guides and My City loan officers join you on a video call, coffee in hand, to share the screen and walk through every page until you're holding the keys.
